ENGIE Energía Perú presents results for the third quarter 2022

  • In the quarter, the net result amounted to US$15.4 million, representing an increase of 69% compared to the same period of 2021 (US$9.1 million).

 

  • ENGIE Energía Perú signed a Loan Agreement with IDB and IDB Invest, for a total amount of up to US$300 million for the construction of the Punta Lomitas Wind Power Plant and its expansion of up to 36.4 MW, with which the project would reach a total nominal capacity of up to 296.4 MW.

 

  • After applying for the first time to the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment, it obtained the Platinum Medal, the evaluator’s highest score.

 

Lima, October 31, 2022. During the third quarter, EBITDA amounted to US$49.1 million, representing a 10% increase over the same period of 2021 (US$44.7 million). On the other hand, EBITDA for the last 9 months amounted to US$148.7 million, 14% lower compared to the same period of 2021 (US$172.6 million); while net income was US$53.0 million, 15% lower compared to 2021 (US$62.5 million).

 

During the third quarter, the company signed 3 new contracts mainly with Minera Shouxin and COELVISAC for a total of 38.5 MW. As well as 3 addenda for a total of 15.0 MW with Grupo Distriluz.

 

Energy production as of September 30, 2022, amounted to 4,700 GWh, the same as the previous year (4,700 GWh). This was mainly due to higher hydro (hydrology) and solar generation, which offset lower thermoelectric generation.

 

As of September 30, 2022, power generation reached 41,392 GWh, representing an increase of 3.1% compared to the same period of 2021.

 

The Punta Lomitas Wind Power Plant project continues to make progress and at the end of September the first of the 57 wind turbines (including the expansion) that will make up the wind farm was installed.

 

On the other hand, ENGIE Energía Perú obtained the Platinum Medal, the highest score, in the Sustainability Evaluation of EcoVadis, a corporate sustainability rating agency, recognized as one of the most reliable in the world. Likewise, the “Agroemprendimientos” and “Comité de Monitoreo y Vigilancia Ciudadana Ambiental” projects received the “Perú por los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible” (Peru for the Sustainable Development Goals) 2022 edition of “Perú Sostenible” in the Prosperity and Peace categories, respectively.

 

As events subsequent to the quarter, Apoyo & Asociados Internacionales and Moody’s Local PE Risk Rating maintained the risk ratings with the “AAA” category and of the common shares of 1ª.pe. This category corresponds to the highest level of solvency, stability and payment capacity.
