ENGIE Energía Perú obtains a Platinum Medal in EcoVadis

  • Passing the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment for the first time, ENGIE Energía Perú obtained an overall score of 78/100, being awarded the Platinum Medal.

 

  • This result places ENGIE Energía Perú in the top 1% of the companies evaluated by EcoVadis.

 

  • EcoVadis, considered one of the most reliable rating agencies in corporate sustainability, uses an evaluation methodology based on international standards such as the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), ISO 26000 and the Global Compact Principles.

 

ENGIE Energía Peru, one of the largest power generation companies in the country, achieved a score of 78/100 in the EcoVadis rating, obtaining the Platinum Medal, the highest score awarded by this corporate sustainability rating agency, recognized as one of the most reliable in the world.

 

ENGIE Energía Peru obtained this rating after going through the evaluation of seven indicators based on 21 sustainability criteria in four areas: environment, labor practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

This success is the result of the efforts of our teams who continually seek to improve processes and operating methods. It is not only a great encouragement for us, but also for our customers, whom we seek to accompany on the road to decarbonization; and suppliers, whom we aim to help in their sustainable development”, said Rik De Buyserie, CEO of ENGIE Energía Perú.

 

The Ecovadis methodology is based on the main international standards such as those of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), the UN Global Compact, the ILO (International Labor Organization) conventions, the ISO 26000 standard, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

 

To date, more than 90,000 companies have been evaluated by EcoVadis, which promotes the transparency of sustainability practices, provides information on the main issues related to corporate sustainability, helps to identify actors with significant sustainable performance, encourages continuous improvement in processes and management, and finally, provides information on the sustainable performance of business partners and/or suppliers.
