ENGIE Energía Perú appoints new General Manager

The Board of ENGIE Energía Perú, one of Peru’s largest power generators, today appointed El Mehdi Ben Maalla as the company’s new General Manager, replacing Rik De Buyserie who will assume new responsibilities at ENGIE Australia.

 

Ben Maalla, who will also assume the position of Country Manager of ENGIE in Peru and Colombia, previously held the position of Director and Head of Acquisitions, Investment and Financial Advisory (AIFA) at ENGIE Brazil.

 

With a 12-year career in the ENGIE Group, he has served as Senior Financial Advisor in Dubai for ENGIE’s Middle East business unit. He started at ENGIE in Trading & Portfolio Management (GEM) in the Europe region, where he held various roles in gas and electricity asset optimization.

 

Ben Maalla, a Belgian-Moroccan national, holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, an Engineering degree from the Institut Français du Pétrole school (ENSPM) and a Master’s degree in Finance from the Solvay Business School.

 

Rik De Buyserie will remain in office until such time as El Mehdi Ben Maalla assumes the position, which will be communicated in due course.
