Localidad Ilo, Moquegua

Port city located in the department of Moquegua. It is located on the south coast of the country. Ilo is known for being an important seaport and commercial center in the region, facilitating trade and export of Peruvian products. Ilo’s economy is based on port activities, fishing, agriculture and commerce. It has more than 66 thousand inhabitants. The Intimpapa Thermoelectric Power Plant and the Intimpapa Solar Power Plant, from Engie Energía Perú, entered commercial operation in 1997 and 2018 respectively.
